The Dynamics community gathered in San Antonio, TX the week of October 14th for the annual Community Summit tradeshow event. More than 5,500 Microsoft users across finance, IT, business admin, supply chain, and sales & operations gathered to connect with others in the community and learn about the value of their Microsoft products.

As we all know, one week at an in-person event can often be more valuable than one year online, and that was certainly the case at this year’s event. The Partner Marketing Group was excited to be back on the show floor and in sessions learning about what’s new and what’s hot with marketing in the channel.

Here are a few things we loved and learned during the event.

Biz Apps Partner Marketing Workshop

The Partner Marketing Group team was proud to be included in this pre-conference event centered around marketing, AI, thought leadership, and more. With sessions ranging from Microsoft keynotes about Business Central and Copilot to how to use AI as a door opener to how thought leadership drives trust and demand, this was a must-attend event for all marketers – new and experienced.

Marketing in the Dynamics Community

And, of course, because we love marketing, we paid special attention to what others in the community are recommending for effective marketing in 2024. Here are just a few of the highlights.

  • During the “Keys to Marketing And Tech Across Generations” session, presented by Mary Miller, Sam Bush, and Kate Coffey-Bacon, we learned that long form content is something we all want, across all generations, and holds the most value!
  • Marie Weise, Matt Abbot, Jeff Ney, and John Clark presented on account-based marketing during the Biz Apps Partner Marketing Workshop, giving the following tips:
    • Know your buyer persona – focus on decision makers and influencers
    • Not everyone is immediately ready to buy, keep working and nurturing until they’re ready or disqualify themselves
  • Amanda Sherry’s presentation “UT What?! Building a UTM Strategy that Enhances Marketing ROI” shared excellent UTM best practices, such as standardizing your naming convention across your organization, keeping record of tracking links, and being sure to use UTMs for generating traffic to your site rather than internal journeys.

Overall, Community Summit continued to prove its value as a place for partners, ISVs, and end users to connect face-to-face. From important updates from Microsoft to marketing tips and tricks from industry experts, our week was jam-packed full of learning and connecting.
