Tip #1

Redesigning a website is as technical as it is creative, and you should never, ever underestimate how big of a project this actually is. A website redesign includes design, content, graphics, SEO, templates, and more – so much more than one person (or even a small team) can do on their own.

Before you get started, make sure you have the expertise on hand for every piece of the project, or be prepared to hire out.

Tip #2

Don’t forget mobile! As B2B marketers, the vast majority of our website visitors are likely coming from desktop. However, Google will not organically push your website if it is not optimized for mobile users. Having a mobile-friendly website will also enhance user experience, speed, SEO, and drive business growth effectively.

Tip #3

Keep up with trends, and always keep one eye on your partners and competitors. If you pay attention to what others in your space are doing, when it comes to creating a new experience for your users, it’ll be much easier to have a game plan.

In fact, our experts recommend doing a light website redesign every year and a full redesign every three years in order to keep up with trends.

Tip #4

This one is perhaps the most important one of all. Take care of your team! A website redesign is often an all-hands-on-deck kind of project that could last anywhere from three to six months depending on the changes. Prepare your team for a shift in mindset in advance, and be candid about what it’s going to take to get this done. Check in regularly, and – most importantly – work as a team!
