B2B Social Media: Q&AMarketing Matters by The Partner Marketing Group

Social media posts are something your company should be doing regularly, but do you mix it up from time to time? B2B Social Media can be used a way that seems fun to consumers. And, personally most of us like to have some fun on social media. So, there is no reason your company can’t do the same.

This week’s Marketing Matters question asks for ideas on how a business can make B2B social media more fun.

Q:  How can we bring more fun to our company’s social media posts?

A:  As B2B marketers, particularly in the technology space, there is a tendency to focus on product, new offers and industry trends with social media posts. While there is nothing wrong with this approach, don’t be afraid to share some of your company’s personality. As we all know, people buy from people – yes, even in B2B – so it is ok to have fun too.

How can you do this? Here are 3 quick things you can add into your social mix:

  1. You may already bring in standard holidays like 4th of July, Halloween or Christmas, but consider adding in some of the not so common holidays popular on social media. We have listed a few ideas below.
  2. Feature any charities, causes or events that are important to your company and employees.
  3. Highlight your employees. Showcase your great team, what they love doing and/or fun facts about them. The more people feel connected to your team, the bigger connection they will have to your company as well.

Here are some fun days coming up you can add to your social calendar:

June 21 – National Selfie Day – #NationalSelfieDay – Show some pictures of your team working from the office or home so your followers can get to know your employees!

July 16 – Get to Know Your Customers Day – #GetToKnowYourCustomersDay – Highlight some of the fun facts about your customers.

August 13 – International Left Handers Day – #LeftHandersDay – Feature the left handers in your office and some funny struggles only left handers will understand.
