Email Marketing
By Cheryl Salazar, The Partner Marketing Group
With the amount of email marketing that occurs on a daily basis, it is important to lead your readers to the action you want them to take. While it is certainly important to have a relevant and compelling call-to-action (CTA), there are a few exercises that you can try to see if you can increase your click through rate on these CTAs.
Email Marketing Tips
- Try creating a designed button to put within your email text for readers to click on as opposed to underlined linked text only. Having this visual aid can help draw attention faster to what you want the reader to do and therefore yield a higher click through rate. NOTE – you will need to test the color of your buttons. Colors can have different meanings and using a color like red might be seen as exciting or create a sense of caution.
- Try different locations for your CTA placements. While it known that you generally want to keep your CTA “above the fold “, you might find that your readers respond to buttons at the bottom, in a sidebar, or to the right or left of the text it relates to.
Both of these exercises are items that you will need to track in order to see what is right for your audience. In the sea of emails that we all receive on a daily basis, it is more important than ever to find new ways to make your emails easier and faster for your audience to read.
