Plant Your Marketing Content at the RIGHT Time

Do you plant your marketing content? With Summer is upon us, for the first time in my life, I now have my very own garden! I have been enjoying watching the little seeds pop out of the ground to become beans, peas, or lettuce, and am stressing over the drenching rains, high winds, and hail that is typical for summer weather here.

Like a garden, marketing takes time. Although I visit the garden 5-6 times a day, it doesn’t make it grow any faster. Likewise, any marketing campaigns started today won’t produce fruit for months. A client recently used this phrase and it has stuck in my head as I think about the impact of marketing and how it has been changing in the last few years.

Plant Your Marketing Content

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time to plant is today.

If you haven’t “planted” anything related to marketing your business, the second best time is upon you right now. It’s the right time to plant the seeds for referral business 3, 6, or 12 months from now. It’s the right time to plant the seeds of a website refresh, or ask that ecstatically happy customer to consent to a case study write-up and a testimonial. Everything you do today to market your firm, your services, and your skills can result in a healthy tree we ALL wish we had planted 20 years ago!
